Welcome to the Knox County GOP
Note From the Chairman PDF Print E-mail

Today was another historic day in Knox County politics and for the Knox County GOP.

New Officeholders

Tim Burchett was sworn in as Knox County Mayor.  John Duncan was sworn in as Knox County Trustee.  Jeff Ownby was sworn in as Commissioner for the 4th District. Republicans.

Returning Officeholders

Also returned to office were  Jimmy “J.J.” Jones, Joy McCroskey, Sherry Witt, Foster Arnett, Jr.,  Judge Patricia Long, and Cathy Quist.  Republicans.

Commission

The Knox County Commission has been reduce to 9 District-based Commissioners.  Tony Norman, Jeff Ownby, Richard Briggs, Brad Anders, R. Larry Smith, Dave Wright, and Mike Brown.  Republicans.

We also now have 2 at-large commissioners – Mike Hammond and Ed Shouse.  Republicans.

Through the efforts of these fine candidates – now officeholders – their families, friends, supporters, and the women and men who support the Knox County Republican Party, Knox County has an outstanding government to help us through these tough times.

I appreciate your efforts for them and for the Party.  If I seem to be taking a victory lap, I guess I am – not for my efforts – but to highlight the always outstanding efforts of supporters like you who truly make the Knox County Republican Party an example for the entire state.
